I thought the first half of Manaus '14 was better/slicker (obvs the second half....not). I was a bit underwhelmed by England tbh given the quality of their players, which is v high. If/when they all click, could be an excellent team

As to Wales, superb effort. They rode their luck a bit, but the Slovaks are a good team

Yeah I thought it was v similar to the first game of the World Cup, albeit against a far worse opponent.

Watching Croatia v Turkey atm. Croatia are excellent; Modric, Perisic, Rakitic all so good

I think Hoolahan is going to get a fair shake at the euros, which is great, because he's brill.

Excellent news

Yeah, either behind long in a 4-5-1 or at the front of a midfield diamond. We desperately need him to do well too.

England looked good, but underwhelming in the last third. They should've taken that one.

Couldve had that. Cant believe Hoolahan came off for Keane.

EDIT: I'll probably eat my words, but I reckon we could take Belgium and then cling to a nervy draw with an Italy that's already made it through.

Darned cockwombles.
With the added bonus of seeing/hearing Ronaldo throw his toys out of the pram, thereby handily reminding everyone why he'll never be as fondly regarded as Messi (tax evasion or no tax evasion).

Ronaldo getting all shitty like that will have made the result all the sweeter for Iceland. I'm pretty sure that's not why he did it but it's nice for them.
I enjoyed both games today - Switzerland were so tidy on the ball and had so much possession but Romania caught em with a sucker punch and that set up the rest of the match.
Then France v Albania was nowhere near as one-sided as I expected - Albania broke up the French rhythm and they were unable to dominate the ball or territory enough to frighten them. In fact Albania came close to scoring with a corner routine in the first half and hit the post in the second before France reverted to their expected line-up and began to impose themselves more and more. Chances started to come thick amd fast but it was still cruel when they scored two at the end. I didn't see Albania's other game but I hear they had a player sent off early but still gave a decent account of themselves. Sounds as though they have been a little unlucky.

Not as shit as Russia or Austria or Joe Hart, to be fair. But yeah, hard to see them making the final. Italy looked ominously effective, on the other hand.

Yeah, Italy seem like the most professional of all the big teams so far.

Thought we were heading for a famous Welsh result there. England still very nervy.

Wales just let England come at them again and again in the second half - tbh they were probably lucky to hold on as long as they did. Suicidal gameplan.

But England will struggle against better opposition, as always.

Outclassed today, cant argue otherwise - primarily due to McCarthy.

That said, the Ref fucked us seconds before the first goal, could have hung on for an ill deserved 1-1 draw had he given the penalty he should've given.

Eazt europeans using steroids, body building and mma training to bring a new discipline and commitment to hooliganism. Basically a professional attitude our lads cant match

Yeah, fair play. Good chance of going to the 1/4's, maybe even further. Id fancy them against France, Portugal, Belgium or England, or even Germany or Spain if they dont improve.

I think Wales'll get Portugal/Belgium in the quarters, if they manage to beat Turkey or whichever 3rd placed team comes out of UEFA's ridiculous algorithm.

I have to say I think Wales'd get battered against a really good team, but fortunately (arguably) there aren't any aside from Croatia in their half of the draw. And Croatia have got to be a (very) good bet to win the whole thing at this point.
