It feels like a Real betrayal for them... and if they get Gerard too; imagine that, one minute you're sitting pretty with a brilliant CL winning coach committed to a long-term rebuild and suddenly he's fucked off and you're being managed by your greatest enemy's icon who has virtually no experience.
It’s all very Everton - they’ve got some genuine talent in their squad for the first time in ages and someone who knows how to manage them and then it all goes tits up! They’d be better off getting Potter or Howes or the Wolves bloke (name escapes me) at least they’ve managed in the Prem. If Calvert Lewin gets a decent few games at the Euros he’ll be off, Richarlison is quality when he’s on it.
The only thing saving Everton from being a total laughing stock will be the fiasco over at Spurs - Kane gone, some bin end replacements, Son eying the door and either our previous manager or choice number 17 as a replacement for the Mourinho disaster.
