Can I be honest with YOU?

You could have answered my emails. You could have told me what was going on. Let me make his clear to anyone in the current round: I am here to help. If you've got a problem, I am here to help you find a solution.

We could have worked something out. Even something as extreme as you sending me the tape and me digitizing it for you. Sure it wouldn't be the same, but at least it would have solved the problem.

You could still have sent your CD. No excuses there.

God, if this is going to be like the fucking Inquisition, no fucking thank you!

Thanks anyway.

Some of us were busy with several jobs and school and all of that. If it fell by the wayside, I'm sorry, but there's no need to be like THIS about it. Frankly, at the time I didn't have free time to be fucking around sending people tapes to get digitized. If it was going to be quick and fun, I thought it would be worth it, but I see now that I shouldn't have bothered.

Idlerich, if I can find it (I was away taking care of a sick relative for a while, left my apartment, and a new person moved in, which displaced a lot of my stuff), I will send you the tape.

I had no interest in sending CDs in the mail, I could have easily sendspaced anyone on here a mix CD and it would have taken 10 minutes.

And I never received any emails, probably because I have an auxiliary email account attached to my Dissensus account, because I don't need to be getting emails all the time about how many private messages I have!

It's hardly the inquisition. I just thought a little reality check was in order. I also wanted to send the message to other participants that I am here to help in any way I can.

No need to be like what? I stated facts. Hey, I understand that sometimes life gets in the way. That is exactly why I said:
I've just been re-reading some of [the] posts [from the first cassette swap thread] and hadn't realized how many of us didn't receive tapes. This time around I want to make it clear that I am not above nagging you to death or embarassing you here. Believe me, I learned from the best. So please, don't sign-up if you're not going to send a tape.
As far as I am concerned, you could still have let me know either by emailing me privately or even here on the forum. I let one of your fellow participants off the hook because he/she took the time to write a note stating his/her difficult set of circumstances. As I said before, we could have worked something out.

If it was going to be quick and fun, I thought it would be worth it, but I see now that I shouldn't have bothered.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I am equally glad that others don't feel as you do.

That's a pity. We had several excellent CD submissions last round, complete with lovely cover art.

The email address you signed up with was a gmail account. Over the course of the swap I had three seperate emails from that account (dated April 3, 14, and 27) apologizing for being late, but promising to send a tape as soon as possible. I kept sending reminders there, but heard nothing more. I finally gave up at the beginning of June. If you never check that email, maybe you shouldn't have used it as your point of contact.

Look, I tried to the extent that I was willing to try to find a cassette player. When I couldn't, I moved on and did some of the other trillions of more important things I had to do. I am not "ashamed" or anything of the sort that I was too busy to finish this when life got in the way. "Like what?" Hmm do you really want to know? I'm sure it's none of your business WHAT was going on in my life around then, but it sure wasn't pleasant.

Somehow nerds really do manage to suck the fun out of any and everything.

Am I getting graded on this? You really sounded like a disgruntled teacher, Chef.

And I don't need YOU to "let me off the hook" for anything. I let MYSELF off the hook a long time ago. As I recall I only emailed you to get you off my back, since I checked that email and had what I consider to be a literally insane number of emails about this shit in there.

It's not the end of the world, buddy, it's an internet tape swap.

For non-tape-player-owning types:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_g...onics&field-keywords=cassette+walkman&x=0&y=0

Amazon.con, search "cassette walkman", second item, "from $4.16". :)

This wouldn't have helped, because in NYC, your mailbox is a very small unit. If you order something that is bigger than your mailbox, all you get is a slip in the mailbox that you have to take to the post office to pick up your package. I suppose it's different in the U.K., but in the US the post office is not open during the hours people are home from work. The only time I would have been able to pick it up would have been Saturday morning, and even then, the lines are hours long full of illegal immigrants buying millions of money orders to pay their bills. If you don't pick up the package in 10 days, it gets sent back.

Not. worth. it. My time, especially then, was more valuable than that.

You misunderstand; the "Like what?" was in reference to the

NOT your personal life. I honestly could care less.

 What could be nerdier than a swap of obsolete analogue media?

The review blog is at http://ferriteloveconnection.blogspot.com . What is a review but a report on the relative merits of a piece of art?

As I recall I only emailed you to get you off my back, since I checked that email and had what I consider to be a literally insane number of emails about this shit in there.
*shrug* I said I wasn't above nagging.

Not. worth. it.
Very true. You didn't participate then, you're not participating now, and that is the end of the saga.

Well, by all means send it to me but I did get one and I think some people didn't, why not check with Chef Napalm for someone who didn't and send it to them?

No worrys. Friday or Monday makes little difference in the eyes of the postal service.

I've sent an email to anybody I haven't heard from yet. Please let me know how the tape or CDR you are sending is progressing.

I've also sent out email concerning the status (sent/late) of the tape or CDR you will be receiving. If you didn't get one, it's because I don't know what's happening with it (see above).

Finally, thanks to everybody for their hard work. It's a tough time of year to get extra-curricular activities done and I really appreciate your effort.
