Hi all, just thought I'd let you know that I'm leaving the country and heading off to take a newspaper job in a strange oil-rich Emirate for a while. This is not something that I ever imagined that I'd actually do do until about six weeks ago, but I get on the plane early on Friday morning and head off. I probably won't be posting any more because the internet will be censored but I do have a blog which I'm going to try to keep going while I'm there, if I can. To all of you that I've seen in person before leaving, thanks for coming out to say goodbye and to the rest of you, good luck and look after yourselves.

Nice one stelfox, stay in touch. I meant to bring you my copy of Rings Of Saturn by WG Sebald for your journey, but forgot. Buy yourself a copy at the airport if you can and I will reimburse you with beer when you return.
