browsing this thread, i can't count the number of times i've been tempted to troll with 'HEY GUYS!! I'VE JUST DISCOVERED THIS AMAZING NEW KIND OF MUSIC CALLED JUKE! APPARENTLY IT'S FROM DETROIT, AND IT'S ALL MADE BY THIS GUY CALLED DJ NATE, AND...'

i won't tho.

i like juke, but, not to bang an old drum - i reeeally like dancing to it, so much more than home listening. obviously it was impossibly fast, and obviously i was shit, but it was still great fun. (this was at the dj rashad immigration-scuppered night... jam city/girl unit played a great b2b juke set instead.)

The first record was "Jack The Dick" by Farley, 1985 on Trax, but that Mark Imperial is definitely an earlier one.

I'm actually making a list of "proto-ghetto house" for an online mag that I should be done with soon.

Scored the wav release of Da Trak Genious from bleep today -- so so fine. What a mind bending release, it's rough and tough and hits all the right spots. Massive respect to Mike P for pulling off this project. It is really great to have this out there. I am going to be playing this a lot!
