After Black came Green, Red and White etc... Green was always a favourite, but there is only a clip on youtube, without the proper intro:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

And Black VIP:

Ah, black VIP.

Spent ages tracking down a 'good' pressing of this (had one at 33/2 tracks a side on that 95 formation compilation), and found one at 45/1 track a side 10" on that Formation box set, only to realise that the problem was mainly with the production rather than the pressing...

Great breaks, great samples. Feels oddly soothing in places despite the darkness.

this one is amazing

i've only just noticed that on hitman, marvelous cain nicked his amens from renegade - terrorist. in the quiet bits you can hear the hoover bass that he hasn't quite managed to eq out. er, yep. as you were.

dillinja sampled the intro of Bukem's "a couple of beats" (flipside of demons theme) and used that as the basis for many of his tracks. it has a nice bit of sub that sits under the drums and is perfect to build on. I think you can hear that on Deadly Deep Subs and the like.

Didn't Bukem steal a whole track and infamously speed it up?

don't know that story, would like to though. lots of nicking went on but it was for the good of the sound not the bad. after all theres only 5 break beats in jungle.

I'm hazy on the details, but I think Atlantis, or something similar was basically a techno tune that was sped up to 165 or whatever.
I'll ask around... Don't want to start accusing people of that kinda stuff without really knowing.

this is the sample he used for "Atlantis":

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

I wouldn't call it "stealing". sure it's a pretty dang prominent sample but then again this -is- jungle we're talking about...anyway, make your own judgments. and don't get me wrong, "Surkit" is a great classic Detroit tune but "Atlantis" is just on a whole other level, a life-changer...
