Selling an entire record collection

When I say record collection, it's about 2,000 LPs about 1,200 45s and about 2,000 CDs.
It's not all reggae, but there is a hell of a lot of reggae in it.
This part of the collection I particularly want out of my life and would actually be willing to bust it out from the rest.
However, it's not for a while and I've just received a pretty interesting email from someone, so maybe the problem is solved.

I'm half thinking about this as well. Mine have been stored in siblings' attics and really not missed (actually I've cut myself from 9/10s of all of my stuff and not missed anything)...and I guess too it's the fear of getting ripped off which is the only thing stopping me make a quick and easy sale

There's not a lot to exactly enjoy in any of those places apart from Beirut (where I'll be as of tomorrow) for 10 days and even that's a dubious pleasure at the moment, what with the elections next week.

That's really all it is for me, too. I don't want a vast amount of my record collection any more and the rest, I can get in much more convenient formats, given the fact that I'm likely to stay itinerant for as long as I can. Don't even care how much I get for it, really, but I don't want to have the piss taken.

you mean you will not have time to enjoy the very much enjoyable things one can find in all 3 places? surely there are plenty of amazing sights, sounds and tastes each of those 3 locations have to offer...

errr, yeah there are some sights and there is seriously interesting stuff going on, don't get me wrong. i'm also getting a ton out it all. it's just that it's work – and work that focuses on some fairly tricky stuff, so "enjoying" the experience is sometimes not entirely appropriate.

.

true, but it's a beautiful city in its own way. Just wandering up and down the corniche is good enough for me.

Also, Craiglist's ride share section makes it so you pay very little to travel places, or, if you own a car and are willing to pick up travellers, nothing at all as they will cover all of your petrol and occasionally turn you a profit.

I'd really like to travel too, but I think what has mostly been stopping me is having moved into a really nice apartment recently that I can't afford to stop paying rent on. I am going to drive across Canada to Vancouver this summer though, and this is how I'm going to do it.

driving across canada sounds like a plan.

my mate cycled across it last year. nutter.

back on topic, i HATE music & video exchange. I phoned them up a few weeks ago saying i had a load of brand new paperbacks (mostly penguin classics. about 140 in total). They said ok bring them down we'll probably given at least £1.50 per book, maybe £2 if they're good (which they were. no low-brow shit). so i put them in a suitcase and trudged them to central london and when i got there they offered me 50p a book!! wankers. Got £1 a book in the end but only when they saw how screwing/distraught i was.
