I love a high percentage of acid stuff (I agree with Mr DMX that its almost hard to get wrong, its such a great sound), but I think my favourite may well be this one, which I noted a track on the FACT list was off the original 12" of....Mike Dunn's "Face the Nation":
I only got to hear a faded edit of it on a compilation til a few years ago when I got onto Soulseek. After years of obscurity, it has been given a nice repress now by Clone in the Netherlands & seems to be creeping up in people's affections via the latest acid revival. I tend to prefer acid tracks where it sounds like its dripping off the walls in huge globules, but this one does a great effort of combining that semi-spoken Chicago gay club vocal (Tyree on this occasion, which I'd stupidly never even realised til today) & a rising line that kinda presages the poppers-like intensity favoured on 90s acid stuff. Probably not to everyone's taste, but I've never tired of it in nearly twenty years...
