hardcore classics

ok, i'll try.

i'm going the way some people seem to go recently: dubstep->grime->garage->jungle->hardcore. harcore continuum basically.
sadly hardcore/early jungle is not something widely discussed nowadays, so it's hard to get into it.

what were the classics, the milestones, the avantgarde gems?

i tried to search the board - http://dissensus.com/showthread.php?t=8064 this thread was great! some youtube links expired though.

please, school me on hardcore.
youtube links not required, just tunes names will be enough.

wow, thank you for such a nice start!
it's incredible how fresh the sounds are.
compared to this, most of the dubstep sounds tired and old.

obvious burial quote: “I see so much hope in those tunes, even the darkest of those tunes, jungle tunes and all that. In the UK – ‘cos that’s all I know – those tunes tried to unite people. I want to let those people know that they didn’t fail. Because to some people, those tunes mean everything. I almost feel that if ravers who are a bit older could hear a bit of that in my tunes, I could die happy.”

everyone is encouraged to keep on posting tunes.

this, and youtube doesn't have other side, which i think is superior, but here's the original:

you should be able to find rips of 90-92 rave tapes pretty easily online. look for people like top buzz, ellis d, fabio & grooverider, easygroove, dougal, ray keith, dj sy, ratty. events to look out for include fantazia, dreamscape, helter skelter, sterns, oscars...

for hardcore turning into jungle you can't do better than sets from AWOL. watch for randall b2b kenny ken, AWOL @ Paradise, 1993. one of the best things ever put on tape ;)

out1, have you heard this Tubby & Slimzee old-school set from a couple of months back? Here's the download link:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/57ypzb
There's about 40 mins of 3rd/4th rate dubstep at the start that you'll either have to skip or endure :p , but after that you get coming on for 2 and 3/4 hours of prime, classic hardcore from 92-93. Features many of the tunes and artists mentioned above, plus a whole bunch of other stuff.
If you want I could put up a partial tracklist for it (and maybe other people could fill in some of the gaps).

PS - Can't beat the system, go with the flow! ;)

can anyone help me with something?
there was a tune, maybe by nicky blackmarket, around 1991 that i used to love more than just about anything. it went like this
feel the n-er-gee rush up to your face
feel the n-er-gee rush up to your face
feel the n-er-gee rush up to your face
round and round and round and steady pounding

or at least something along those lines
i havent heard it since. i want to hear it again. what was it? where is it?>
