    the unrevived and the unrevivable

Is this big stateside? This is a sound i like, but i struggle to see it in the UK's currently dying clubscene, whereas it seemed to be popping in Chicago, New York, Nashville, New Orleans and other spots i wasn't visiting. It also seemed to be happening around Europe in various spots, i even...

    the unrevived and the unrevivable

I was in Orlando for a layover a month ago, wandered out of the airport to look for something to do and ended up at a Florida Breaks night that apparently Icey himself would sometimes go to. Very friendly crowd, though they seemed to all just be the original crowd from the 90s still. The music...

    Are you having fun?

My thoughts on the Nitzer Ebb song about fun? I am a huge fan of them, but they look and sound a bit like an offshoot of EMF in this particular video. It looks more like fun through gritted teeth. Whilst i am not a habitual dogger myself, i once inadvertently spent an entire summer as a 9 year...

Inventing Sounds Way Ahead of Historical Schedule

What makes you say they are clearly from the 88 Urban pressing of Bobby Byrd, over the 87 pressing of "Raw"?

Inventing Sounds Way Ahead of Historical Schedule

I think this was previously unreleased, I heard Twitch play it and then literally ran into him at a festival a month or so later, so i just asked him about it and he told me that it was something that Bryn had given to him many years ago. I'll dig out the promo blurb. "There's a bit of a story...

Inventing Sounds Way Ahead of Historical Schedule

Muslimgauze in 1984/85 invents whatever this is, a friend of mine pointed out that the drums are from the b-side of Big Daddy Kane's "Raw" cos you can hear the doubled up kick and 808 kick, which is from 87, but I can't find any evidence that the drum sample used to make Raw was even available...
