the european techno i had in mind was the Cadenza lot primarily, not only in the percussion but particularly the melodic sensibility, that kind of delicate wonderment. much less rough and chunky, but thats where the uk thing comes in... this is going to look long but the first half of this...

so pleased that the Aphrodisiax EP came out at last, Unfinished Business is so heavy. it has a very interesting vibe... clearly UK in the ruffness, but then very close to some new deep house or even some of the more intricate and organic European techno from the last few years the b-side with...

i think the problem i'm having is the term 'universal', because to me it is very heavily loaded with issues and complications. what you describe above is not universality in the sense that i interpret the word, but something relating to social construction and something more easily empirically...
