320 Mp3 vs. Wav vs. FLAC

You can use something like this to transcode from AAC to MP3: http://www.sennir.co.uk/Projects/123 I guess if you go from AAC to 320 you'll minimise any loss from the transcoding process, but I doubt the iTunes files are 320 quality to begin with.

    Jungle

Zhao - it's not UKG at all, but check out some of the Fidget House or Electro Breaks (bleh, whatever...) type stuff thats coming out the past year or so... kind of picking up from Switchs style and munging it with Electro House and old skool sounds. Boy 8-Bit - Fogbank... massive jungle sounds...

320 Mp3 vs. Wav vs. FLAC

The engineering/mastering is a much greater differential in audio quality than 320 vs FLAC vs WAV.

    Jungle

its proper banging tribal business, by virtue of the subs and the drums alone. such a different feel to anything else and the amount of space in the music was so nice.

Producers: presets or four days perfecting a snare?

FL rocks it... Its a bit kludgy and crusty round the edges now; the way new features keep getting tacked on does give it a rough feel as far as software goes. They really need to overhaul the entire UI, but in a way I kind of hope they don't...

i find trentmoeller far too careful and proggy.

    Jungle

I had a copy of that... good stuff. I still like Black Secret. It doesn't sound much like anything else; proper avante jungle now that so much of the genre has been assimilated or forgotten. That 4Hero album is nice too... not crappy by any stretch. It's the fate of any music/genre that...

    How does PITCHFORK work?

PFM has been subject to a great deal of ire for those exact reasons. I don't understand how people can read their reviews and not become enraged. Truly horrible "this is your brain on indie", eyeball stabbing stuff. Agony without ecstasy.

Yep, I like bits of it a lot. But overall its a bit in and out and I'm more up and down.

    what you currently enjoying ?

No sense in calling a spade a shovel. Stadium house/early trance... its influence has been felt for the past couple of years, fizzling out with cash-ins like the reworks of Utah Saint's Something Good, Golden Girl's Kinetic or the boots of the Jam n Spoon Age of Love remix. All of which were a...

    what you currently enjoying ?

I think it has tons of funk just not in the black funk sense, more like italo/white disco/awkward EBM/cock rock funk. That stiff 80s 4/4 smacking over the chuggy 8th note basslines... The Lifelike mix of Heartbreak's Don't Stop is magic for that. Static but propulsive. I've enjoyed the whiter /...

Every day is Lifelike day at Chateau Bleep. Love the gently inflated sense of elated melancholy. The Presets mix is great, poignant, but my current fave is still the Dancing with Strangers remix, where he switches that standard emo-aerobics vibe up to some gurgling darkside rushy anthem...
