    Live Earth

Good point, Gavin - Mr. Tea never misses a chance to ridicule "post-modernists"! But it's Lenin's and Mao's thought that Badiou is interested in, not their responsibility for or complicity in terror and genocide, and even then of course he has a specific interpretation of their writings.

Four, if "chimps" is a verb: Lion, eating giant, chimps Lion-eating giant chimps I'd like to think to chimp means to have a kind of fit involving gurning and waving of arms over head: This obviously has other applications: )

    Mail on Sunday Prince giveaway

Is he in that position? I somehow thought he was selling practically no records, sorry CDs, in recent years (based vaguely on the fact that he was creatively washed up and never in the charts any more)?

    Mail on Sunday Prince giveaway

I heard an amusing radio "entertainment news" feature on this the other day, where a spokesperson for some music retail group said that they felt "betrayed and saddened" by this "slap in the face" from Prince, who they had been "supporting for all these years"... :slanted: Is it a desperate...

broadband wireless routing problem - "we have a technical"

This seems all too possible (not at home right now to check); if so what's the solution - switch off DHCP/IP routing on one or other of them? The Linksys Wireless router has a setup CD which talks to the router and I presumed would have set all that stuff correctly, but maybe not...

broadband wireless routing problem - "we have a technical"

Thanks polymorphic, I'll try that. Although I did a factory reset on the wireless router post-tweaking, which you'd imagine would do the right thing by default, and given that it's communicating successfully with the laptop. I'm thinking it's a DSL modem setting - despite all relevent lights...

broadband wireless routing problem - "we have a technical"

cheers for that - it's brand new, but I was stupidly fiddling about with its settings from the desktop pc before I realised I should be doing this from the laptop I was actually trying to connect :o I tried a reset with the physical "reset" button on the back of it though - should this have...

I'm failing to connect a laptop to DSL broadband via wireless router at home - the setup is: DSL modem ---ethernet---> desktop pc [broadband connection works fine] DSL modem ---ethernet---> linksys wireless router [seems to be working: wlan & internet lights are on] linksys wireless router...

    Globalisation

^^ exactly, even though it's not always "failing sufficient demand, they turn to advertising" - marketing and advertising's creation of fantasies and stimulation of libidos is usually part of the production process from the start. But Vimothy hasn't demonstrated his contention that infinite...

    The Carbon Thread

This is pretty unambiguous: "Even though there is almost no argument among scientific circles about the role of human activities as the main driver of climate change, a recent poll suggested that the public still believes there is significant scientific uncertainty. Despite the efforts of...
