    Juke

fuck yes werk dem bangz  these tracks, esp the ones which have no kick drums, just deep bass, have a groundless, zero gravity feel to them which suits the dancing completely - it's as if the frantic footwurk is an effort to stay afloat among deep bottomless rhythms sorry I just love...

    Ouija boards

my sister had one and she's an easy believer in all things supernatural. I tried it with her twice and the glass did move and spell out things which responded to our questions. Naturally, I'm skeptical, but I know that I wasn't moving the thing on purpose and I'm pretty sure my sister wasn't...

Innovative rhythm programming - wtf? moments

I have some Slimzee Rinse set from 2004 or something and he mixes in a track that's 3/4. That was a bit wtf in a good way

    daily schedules and routines

minimal for me. The rhythm of the 9 to 5 is hard to shake. On the weekends, unless I'm out clubbing/raving whatever, I tend to stay up only a hour or two later than usual.

    Favourite break

I went through a stage of complete obsession with the funky drummer break and tried to acquire every hiphop track that used it. Seems a bit dumb now but my search led me to some great music.

    London - ICA - Jeff Mills movie & music - 4 Dec

Haha yeah I saw kode 9 on the way out as well but didn't think it was him at first because you wouldn't expect him standing there in the queue. Hence the lost look on his face I guess! Yes and those bulbous eyes... The interviewer was a bit pitchfork wasn't he

    London - ICA - Jeff Mills movie & music - 4 Dec

Anyone else see this? I thought it was alright but I was hoping that there would be a stronger relationship between the visuals and the music. They weren't really tied together that much, not much rhythmic synching etc. But there were some nice moments. The production values were a bit low too...

    'Cyberchondria'

I was hallucinating sounds, feeling paranoid and peeing a lot at night plus the fact that my father has diabetes. In the end the correct diagnosis was 'smoking too much weed and drinking too much oj'

    Crap Towns

Milton Keynes is an elegantly planned place to drive your car. As is the fault with a lot of modernist planning, its oriented towards abstract ideas of efficiency and organisation which fail to take into account how people actually live their lives. Like bad modernist architecture, it may be...

    Race, Gender , and Class

Yeah it was alright. No real surprises though. The rich kid is a snob, the poor kid comes from a crap home. They are stand-offish at first but learn that they are really more alike than they thought. What I couldn't believe was how fearful the rich kid was of the 'dangerous' streets around...
