    World Cup 2018

I will get sucked in as with every big tournament. However after the Euro 2016, which was a rather boring event football wise, my hopes are not too high. That coupled with the plague of current popular sports - namely the focus of reporting more and more on those useless "celebreties" and "VIPs"...

Jordan Peterson thinks it makes sense to compare humans with lobsters

Isn't that guy the equivalent of this "alt-right vs SJW" - thing in "academia" ? Meaning, he is the 4chan college professor or something? You can't take this circus seriously, anyways.

Jordan Peterson thinks it makes sense to compare humans with lobsters

I love it how that guy supposedly became an "expert" on everything and anything lately from career choices to religion to genital warts and whatnot.

Sample-based music was maligned by the right and left and was truly psychedelic

I remeber lamenting about sample-based music (mostly the dance variety) from indie-type of guys and some clearly-left-identifying punks (the Crass-types). The first group said sample-based-music wasn't "real" music, DJ-producer-types aren't real musicians bc they don't play intstruments etc. The...

1990s hypes revisited - loose series installmant 01 - "Easy Listening"

Good call, this book - which I also happen to have - was definitley helping to kickstart that Easy Listening trend. I also remember a deluge of compilation albums of tv themes or cheesy and/or obscure 60s and 70s movie scores were thrown onto the market around '95, '96.

I didn't say the global left was cheering for Khomeini either.

    Jeremy Corbyn

Only in german in my old "Der Spiegel" copies from 1979 - 81. "Der Spiegel" = a german "Time magazine" - most prominent one to endorse Khomeini was later German foreign minister Josef Fischer.

1990s hypes revisited - loose series installmant 01 - "Easy Listening"

1990s hypes revisited - loose series installment 01 - "Easy Listening" I am going through my old music mags I started to buy as a teenager meaning in the mid90s (around 94, 95) and it's astonishing what trends I had already forgotten about which got featured there. So, anybody remebers "Easy...
