yes but it's not simply a question of whether retaliation against Russia is justified but rather whether that retaliation is likely to result in nuclear war. after all, you could imagine a similar convo post invasion of iraq. why shouldn't we bomb american positions, isnt it all equivalent...

it's not actually true, for starters. they defaulted twice in the 90s, I think. I doubt it's massively significant either, it's already cut off from funding markets but Russia can obvs access foreign currency anyway since everyone is still buying its exported oil and gas

I doubt that crypto is inherently right wing as much as accidentally right wing. it just so happens that atm, crypto is on the outside in a similar place to alt right types and theres a significant overlap bw the two spaces due to reasons that are largely partisan

I don't think stable coins are the relevant comparison for most ppl. most ppl hold deposit accounts with banks in the tradfi system. what's the advantage, to them, of a central bank digital currency, held at and managed by their bank?

You could for sure sell "PonziCoin" into this market with no problems. And when it exploded, you'd have twitter treads full of ppl explaining how the fact the demand for more still exists proves how strong crypto is.
