Bad Company - The Nine (2000)

Not sure if third likes this (I've seen him slag off bad company) - I'm sure Luka loathes it - but his defence of the grimly grinding has permitted me to love this choon again.

I remember Andy C (and therefore everyone else) used to tease this tune and it never failed to cause temporary pandemonium. I think I only heard it played out properly once, at some now-long-forgotten Nottingham club night, and it was a memorable experience. A 'zoner'. The 'zone' isn't about joy or even stimulation. I suppose I respond to this choon as others respond to barebone techno.

It's funny D-Bridge has such a weird shame about making this song, and his whole career afterwards is kind of meant to be redemptive, yet he knows this is arguably one of the most defining things he's ever made.

M-Beat - Just A Little (Mellow Mix) - 1993

I love that jungle from this era isn't ever one thing - like this is sort of ragga jungle but it's full of non-ragga sounds, it's not really classifiable by genre or mood.

Maybe this feeds into the discussion of whether a genre's zenith (as defined by droid) is its height or downfall.

But I like this quite a bit. When I listen to this it's exuberance suggests to me why a lot of Greeks like jazz.

I was just reading earlier that gingers have higher pain thresholds and can sense changes in temperature more quickly than standard crackers

i do love bounty's pearl clutching about kartel's lyrics in the third verse.

there's fine line between tough jamaicans and disappointed nans. bounty straddles that divide better than any other.
