It's their best album. Weirdest too. Premier took more risks then. I got it when it came out. Still have the cassette

At the time my favourites were mass appeal and bodyguard. But I loved it all. Still do. It doesn't sound a lot like anything else.

He was more experimental in 1994 I suppose.

His moment of truth era sound is so plush by comparison. Everything bright and expansive.

Hearing this stuff which I'm not familiar with really is underlining to me how great premier is/was, and how stereotypical my notion of him is.

Yeah I saw you say you know my steez was the first gangstarr you heard but obviously that's a very late development the way he did that one. Moment of truth is great but I prefer the grimier earlier phase if push comes to shove

Got me wondering if premier got this sort of sound off RZA or visa versa or neither.

Jeru is like an extension of the Wu tang universe. (Or visa versa?)
