CRANK NUTRITION.

What does your mother-partner-nanny state forbid you? Drink, drugs, meat, other women, illiberal attitudes? This stuff plays into the revival of the alt right and their sense of having been emasculated.

It's easy to say all this is stupid, snake oil, unscrupulous, and of course it is, but it's also intriguing how so many people on so many different, wildly different, diets, achieve results of some kind or other, and are happy, at least initially, with those results. Diets as diametrically opposed as all beef and raw food vegan, from constant calorific surplus to fasting.

I think there is another mechanism at work here, one in which food and nutrients are less important than disruption and sacrifice.
There's a YouTube channel which seems to consist of a dude going round finding ripped middle aged people and asking them how they stay in shape.

After about a month of a 90% strict carnivore diet, and years of a mostly LCHF diet before that, I have now been hospitalized since Sunday morning for diverticulitis of the large intestine. I won't be able to eat anything but soups and mashed things for a while.

My thoughts on the situation: I don't know what caused the condition, but I do know I love steak. I know I really wish that carnivore was the way to go for me but to be honest, the healthiest people I know eat a little bit of everything and exercise regularly.

I totally buy that fiat food is bad for us and that we probably should eat less cheap junk, but we all have different bodies. I'm a 44 year old man who enjoys the good life a bit too much and experimenting too much with what I eat is probably a bad idea.

Take care of yourself and don't just blindly follow anything, DYOR, but don't dismiss all the real research that is out there. It's hard to separate the real stuff from the propaganda though, I know.

The doctors think I'll be out of here two or three days from now depenfing on how well the antibiotics work. This first week I'm not allowed to eat anything. I'm on a salt/sugar drip and I had 4 small glasses of water yesterday.

I try to see this as an opportunity to slow down for a while. Trying to live an interesting life can be very stressful. I'm very happy that my #Bitcoin stuff is doing so well, but it's hard to balance that with my normie career and my family life. I probably needed a break.

I am the uncrowned king of soup.

Chunks of carrots, celery, leeks and onions fried off in a glug of oil and butter, add thyme, stir. Caramelise away. Add water/2 stock cubes for sodium, blast of ketchup for sweetness and a generous helping of parsley. Blitz with whizzer thing until consistency achieved. Season with pepper and/or chipotle flakes.

Fucking banging.

I have been a vegetarian for several years. At first everything was cool, I felt great. But after a while my skin became pale, I began to hurt more often, became less physically active. So on Canadian Pharmacy I read that it is from a lack of vitamins. I didn't really believe it but ordered a complex of vitamins (Vitamin C, B, D, E, Iodine). In a few weeks I felt better. Now I continue to take vitamins for prevention. I like being a vegetarian and nothing will stop me

I buy into fasting. Makes me feel light, comes with a quasi high. Intermittent though, nothing too intense, in practice its little more than occasionally seeing how long I can hold off my fist meal.

Plenty of great cranks in the field too- used to get a recurring ad with a man who looked like an actor for a cialis ad on top off a snowy mountain, arms wide, letting us know he hasn't eaten in over a week. Dovetails with its own psuedo science, something about how thats more in line with the dietary habits of our original hunter-gathering ancestors.

This was me in my weed days (an era of roughly 100 years). I'd wake up, tea or coffee, spliff, register that delicate shift, that clicking into place of expanded consciousness, the birds start singing, or I become aware of them singing, light and space inside, don't eat, usually till the evening, or not at all. Great weight loss programme. Highly recommend.

I'm the same - no gains on the arms or legs or shoulders, just a ballooning of the waistline. Turns out dancing and walking to a bus stop were what stopped me from turning into a monster.

I try to go for a walk most days but I used to cycle to station, then walk about all day at work. Whereas now I can go 3 days without leaving the house
