often i can find that if i listen to too much of this stuff any old wacky experiment will intrigue me. like someone running a load of matches and pouring tea in a t-cup through grm tools. not to say that can't be done well but...

but. i really like pre-editions mego Mego, when they were clearly influenced by techno but basically had fuck all to do with anything resembling the techno scene. the get down get out and fenn o'berg records are classics.

denis smalley gets VERY freaky with sounds honestly. wish he had a retrospective comp or something. second half of this always gets to me

I just discovered this piece by reading Ambrose Field's Simulation and Reality: The New Sonic Objects. This is the piece he uses to exemplify 'non-real' landscape morphology. The sounds are treated enough that they're reminiscent of their original source, but are not real representations. Wonderful!

"alpha terrain of disease" just replaced "chrome country" in my heart. if i ever do that film about/touching on shabetai this one goes near the end/maybe even AT the end

oh yeah! i think i have that one but didn't think much of it when i heard it, will have to give it a re-listen. like i said, i got so burnt out with this stuff by late 2015 that i started getting back into techno raving for a bit, that was not to last though...

yasunao Tone also a big one for me, he always seems to make multi-dimensional (intelligent noise?) (intelligent hardcore!) that somehow manages to put you in some strange liminal zone as opposed to browbeating you into submission.

well seen as i discussed nono im gonna cheat and post this:

incontrovertible evidence that Nick Land wouldn't have come up with accelerationism if those ccru academics didn't introduce him to jungle.

does that entice Vim?

to go back to classical, original piece that evol interpreted, continuum, is beautiful. ligeti is one of my favs. hungarian rock and musica ricercata potentially have proto-trance arpeggios. especially on barrel organ. see at 12:18. ligeti is acoustically overloading. a nice touch after all the intense drones i've been through. feels warm

yeah. though darkside is weirder imo of course.
valley of the shadows always comes to mind. strangest ever. changed me as a kid! necessary change
