Hi, I'm starting a radio show playing VGM, on Bristol's community station NOODS FM https://noodsradio.com

It'll be on every 3rd TUESDAY of the month @ midnight GMT (7pm EST 4pm PST). The first show will be tonight! Please tune in!

I also started a twitter for the show https://twitter.com/music_oke but I don't really get social media. If any of you, clout or otherwise, could tweet about the show it would be most appreciated as promotion is very much a diy, word of mouth type thing. :thankyou:

The first show is up now up for archive listening. Please check it out.

Dream Console - VGM RadioShow - Show:01

Noods’ tracklist system is rather limiting so, if you're interested, here’s a full version with game details etc.
This first show focuses mainly on the PS1 / Dreamcast era. Starting off with a little ambient tribute to Kuniaki Haishima & HK. AddOil💪. Then moves into some more beat orientated, bass driven sounds.

I’ll be playing more VGM on noodsradio.com tonight at midnight GMT (7pm EST 4pm PST)

This show focuses mainly on PC98 & TurboGrafx/PC Engine titles. If you like the sound of VGM heavy with smooth jams and CityPop like synth pop, this is the show for you!

Are you in Bristol Trillhouse? Do you know John Stapleton and Joseph Blakey? I think they both have shows on that radio station... also John owns a record shop in the covered market thing and Joseph does regular event showing films called Hellfire Cinema Club.

Here’s the archive of my VGM radio show, Dream Console E02.

This episode focuses mainly on TurboGrafx-16 & PC-98 tracks, so expect an hour of funky Japanese synth pop goodness.

Tune in to noodsradio.com every 4th Tuesday of the month @midnight GMT, for more of the best VGM selections.

I used to live there.

I know John, well kinda. We've traded records in the past & I used to know some of the people who helped run his main club night. The Hellfire dudes I only really know from the internet, but I used to occasionally volunteer at the Cube bitd, I think they were just starting their thing back when I was leaving Bristol.

Ah ok. John is a good guy, he was over in Lisbon lately and I arranged him a slot on the radio here. I think he's mainly collecting African 70s sevens these days.

Yep John's a good dude. Considering how long he's been a fixture in the Bristol scene he could be all standoffish or whatever but I've never got that vibe from him at all. Certainly not something I could say about every promoter I encountered.

I’ll be playing VGM on noodsradio.com tonight at midnight GMT (7pm EST 4pm PST)

Tonight's show focuses on Nintendo’s ambient background themes. This show ft. some binaural audio so it will sound best on headphones or even a 5.1 system that can convert stereo.

Come escape the real world with me for an hour of relaxing video game music.

I’ll be on the radio tonight playing only the finest laidback oldschool vgm in a funk/soul/jazz fashion.

really REALLY enjoying this show man.

Do you happen to know what the track at 16:40 is? Big stuff!! Had a browse through your tracklist but having a hard time locating that particular track.
Thanks.

It's

'Wormsign' from the Amiga Dune OST, by Stéphane Picq. It's a great soundtrack and Picq is a pretty unique composer, well worth delving into his back catalogue if you're into vgm.

super grimey bass line and percussion plus virtuosic use of low bit rate noise
