Which of our users frequented this forum? Third? Version you probably did. Other life definitely. Mvuent. Vimothy is too old for it but probably used it anyway.

What did it teach you about Modern Life? It seems to be the hidden thread running through everything connecting everything. Must of been great.

I'm fascinated by the idea of it. Complete anonymity. The ability to pretend you're someone else at will. Put words in ppls mouths. Conduct entire arguments between one persona and another. Etc.

In practice I think I'd find it infuriating and depressing cos it's full of racists and dodgy porn.

I initially heard of it just as a place to upload naked pictures of celebrities and then all of a sudden it crops up as being the cesspit of the apocalypse

Version would be an incel if it wasn’t for his brother. Lots of provincial sloppy seconds coming his way thanks to brother.

Of course he doesn’t accept them- he’s far better than that- but it’s nice to know it’s there

i used to go on the music board a lot but never really posted for obvious reasons. at the time i thought it was worth wading through all the dumb vitriol for when the good/interesting posters came out of the woodwork, but in retrospect i'm pretty sure it wasn't.

a lot of musicians, etc. did AMAs there in the early 2010s.

I've been on 4chan a handful of times. In truth, I still don't quite understand how it works. It's a mess to look at. The main things I've seen on there are lots of racism in threads supposedly about literature, porn made by a disabled couple on a cruise holiday and some guy telling a story about having anal sex with his girlfriend and getting a tapeworm wrapped round his penis.

My assumption is that every music nerd of a certain age would have passed through there

This is pretty much why I'd thought it would appeal to you.

There's another one called 8chan run by some ex-military guy from the US who lives in The Philippines which is apparently as bad as you'd expect a site run by an ex-military guy from the US living in The Philippines to be.

They also supposedly identified two ISIS training camps, passed the information to the US military and got them blown up.
