During the trial, Lund said that his wife, who suffered depression and had attempted suicide five times since the mid-1970s, was "complicated".
Along these lines, she should have been arrested decades ago for attmpted murder - of herself.
What do you think it'll take? A serving Prime Minister with an elderly relative suffering a painful and incurable disease?

She wasn't that elderly (65) and was suffering from an annoying and treatable condition. Irritable bowel syndrom is not something to commit suicide over, her death probably had far more to do with her depression. In that is a strong argument against euthanasia, as depression can be treated as well (by medicine or family, different discussion).
It is legal where I live (Netherlands), although it's rarely done as physicians are extremely cautious.
Personally I think it should only be reserved for extreme cases.
