Car Hire help

I need (or may need) to hire a car for maybe ten days in April. Gonna start in London, drive up to the north east and bring it back ten days later. Which company is the best (by which I mean the cheapest)?

zipcar, affordable, reliable. Got my test next week, plan to use this for the first year till i can afford a decent brand new motor, i ride my bike 90% of the time, but this would be perfect for someone like me wh only uses a car for a few hours a week

ah sorry, should of probably read your post before posting mine, zipcar probably wouldn't suit you as it's more of an hourly thing. sorry.
