His publisher's released some info about this and he's yet again managed to preempt current events. I don't think you even need to like him to acknowledge that it's eerie how prescient he can be and how many times he has been. Apparently this new one's about a group of people stuck in an apartment together on Super Bowl Sunday 2022 after some event which has shut down all digital connections...

You've read a Richard Powers book! He wrote The Overstory. And Danielewski wrote House of Leaves.

Yeah, Powers rang that bell, thought it might be him, and I know of house of leaves, of course.

I like the sound of The Silence, keen as I am to see the internet turned off every Sunday in order that we may return to God.

The reviews sound promising and I'm glad it's short. He seems better when he's more economical.

I've an outline for a novel now, just need to find time to shade it in with thousands more words. I hope it doesn't take an extended stay in Jura to write it.

I'll see how it goes and then share some more when I'm ready. Good to have a project, a big magnet to align the disordered iron filings of the mind.
