yeah i bracket stroszek with things like 'kids' and 'gummo', same sort of period for me. i'm not sure i could watch it again now, but it was a big impact, watch a fe wtimes sort of thing for me for a while. like rich says, the whole structure - things are fucked, go somewhere else, it gets worse. and some of the scenes - 'ficky ficky?' with the prostitute and his little mate.

It is really good but: no, it isn't.

Dinosaurs have moved on a lot since I was a lad. Aren't they supposed to have had feathers now? They've been stripped of their dignity.

I reckon in a few years they'll announce the discovery that dinosaurs all had really annoying, high-pitched voices, and a bit of a lisp, and that they pronounced "theatre" like "thee-ET-er".

If its not as good as master and commander I'm going to have to pass on it. That's the bar I've set for films now. They have to be at least as good as master and commander. I suppose that means no film now, cos its the best film. Unless anyone can think of any films that are as good as it?
