I understand the temptation to copy the styles of our most highly regarded photographers but id advise you to find your own.

from a bank. symbols of affluance (but not staid affluence), and the same CGI / PS2 cutscene feeling, something going on with the lighting

this is from the nyt art section, not commercial photography. they're (deliberately I guess) starting to use pictures that look like they were shot with a digital camera in 2006, there's been a few things like that recently.
