every time I return to London I head for The Bridge Tavern (opposite Mill Hill Broadway Thameslink) for a Guinness or six (still under £5!), and to listen to the regulars' extraordinary conversations.

As I am doing right now. It's still 4.95 and tastes great. I'm convinced sone regulars are overspill from the now-dead Bald Faced Stag in Burnt Oak. Barwoman in Arsenal cap effing and blinding about Keir Starmer, an annoying cat and whether or not time flies with a customer. But am meeting John Eden later so will prob go after this one and see if I can get my phone fixed.

An actual normal-looking woman just walked in. Not sure what to order next. Maybe I shouldn't.
