Despite every authoritarian government in history having been very strict about what can and can't be said, our ruling "liberals" are beginning to claim that what they believed in only a few years ago meant that they were fascists as only fascists set much store in free speech.

For instance, CBS claim that it was free speech that led to the Holocaust rather than the Nazis' brutal suppression of their opponents' speech and actions (remember the book burning!?).

It will be interesting to see how many common or garden liberals follow their masters' lead on this.

Apparently Germany has introduced a law punishing speech against politicians more harshly than that against other citizens; this should be enough to make it clear that strictures against speech are brought in by those in power to serve power rather than to serve justice.

Those who want to make speech unfree should realise that doing so is redundant because if making something illegal to say is correct then the reasons for making it illegal would also suffice to defuse the power of that speech anyway...so we will find that the laws coming in will inevitably be unjustifiable and purely a power move, whereupon we will also be entitled to punish other people for saying things without giving sufficient reasons.

The motivation behind hate speech legislation is that the statement's existence is liable to cause net harm in the future.

This should entail the negation i.e. destruction of any such statements committed to even more durable media i.e. the UK state should now be in the business of burning or at least redacting books, anything which contains any statement which could qualify as hate speech if said.

The next middle-class do-gooder trend should be people excitedly showing off butchered copies of this or that religious or scientific text.

Idle Rich: Oh, so you think the Jewish hostages should be allowed to eat freely?...so they'd be allowed to eat Palestinian babies?!

I think invoking the law to stop people joking about you is about as anti-free speech as possible.

Is it just you who can't be joked about or are jokes banned altogether?

I mean it's probably a mix-up in the post but somehow I haven't received the details of the case from your lawyers yet, can you tell me what it was precisely I said that constituted libel?

Why are you arguing against free speech while lambasting me for being against free speech?

Plainly, my prosecution is going to be easily rebuffed by the defence who will justly point out that you do not have a good command of the language, nor your own mental faculties.

Eh... you're the one worried about the use of free speech laws to curtail free speech while using the law to try and suppress humorous statements about you. Where did I argue against free speech?

Why didn't you answer my question?

You can't have thought that I really believed you were taking me to court surely... surely?

Although it would have been entirely consistent with your humourless iliberal hypocrisy... and I can understand why you might want to cover that stuff up.

Mr Biscuits have you considered just applying for a green card? It does take a while so it's good to start the process early.

You can buy a gun too when you're over here. My brother has a couple shotguns. Lovely instruments.

I quite like Boston because I don't think I'd need to drive there.
i've been there a few times. i think you probably would need to, it's still pretty spread out. and it is a hard place to drive, lots of aggro and bizarre roads. only bad things happen there. it's a place with bad vibes. a hellmouth. drunk people looking for fights, every time i've been there i've felt like wreckage
