I'd recently gotten the impression the tide was turning against renewables and clean energy, what with Blair coming out against 'net zero' and some people blaming the move away from fossil fuels for recent energy issues, e.g. the outages in Spain and Portugal.

They've a huge advantage in not having to worry about elections. The resources freed up by not having to deal with all that's invaluable.
