One of the news channels reported that the police were investiging whether or not local pirate radio stations had incited people to riot over the weekend. Has this been confirmed elsewhere? All I can find are a couple of stories in the Mirror.

"Word outta street is that today (Sunday 23 October 2005), members from Johnson Crew and Burger Bar have met to call a truce to recent gang warfare and untie against any attacks from the pakistani community. The paki community are the ones calling the shots recently as they are mainly responsible for the high amount of Heroin on the streets of the UK. Black people and pakis have never really seen eye to eye and there seems to be a tolerance between the 2 communities - and this has now gone!
Tonight (Sunday) people are going back on road and this time black peeps are rolling DEEP! For too long black people have had to stand by and see people take the piss with them - this is a time to unite and stand strong not only for the justice of the young girl but also for the black community as a whole. People have been killed and now is a time for the Birmingham and UK Black communities to come together and stop this bullshit, the misjustice, mistrusting, the oppression and victimisation that people have taken for far too long in the UK."
