This was, against all predictions, really good. Didn't recognise a single song, but I might check out their most recent album if this stuff was anything to go by.

Though the club layout was fucking hopeless - could hardly see a thing. From what I glimpsed between a load of shoulders, the two female members of the band were wearing the same frocks and wigs as GPO had on - don't know whether this was a variation on Saddam's old anti-assassination technique.

Yes, he can. Did quite a fucked up version of 'Sister Ray' as well, with lyrics about Stoke Newington, but I was drunk at this point and, as I type, am feeling seriously hungover and disturbingly horny.

Yeah it was a top gig actually, one of the best I've seen them do.

Band was tight, mainly new material (or at least more recent than 1994, ha ha).

They did a very good version of "papal breakdance" tho, plus a Syd Barrett tune and a Lou Reed tune (that "camomile lotion, do it again" one).

And, blissfully, I only bumped into people I liked very much. :D

I do know for sure that the kebab I purchased afterwards was disgusting, and - get this - they put the salad and chilli sauce into two separate containers! What, so now I've got to fuck around at 1am, constructing my own kebab? The lazy swine. I had to eat it 'naked' (ie-just meat and pitta bread) and all I could think was, thank God I gave up red meat this year. "E HATES LIFE" indeed!

You still up for that DJ clash?
