has anyone spotted one near stoke newington tube recently?

i swear i thought i spotted one when i was in the caff by the station the other day, then i got out, rushed for the train, & didnt see it anywhere...

then, on the weekend a mate explained that these are memorials to dead cyclists... i'd seen them in random places round the town before and wondered, but it makes me think... was that a ghost bike or what?

what viktor said.

I am at station "on the regular" as I believe young people say.

the memorial thing I like, but it has been critiscised by some cycling groups for over dramatising the likelihood of getting killed on the road - in that it might put people off cycling. I dunno about that but it is a fundamental problem that it isn't all that safe "on road" (there I go again!). Conversely it may make drivers think about what they are doing?

Having said that I just bought another bike at the weekend.

There are also memorials to cyclists sprayed in stencil on pavements, for example there is one on the north east side of southwark bridge.
