those are a bit dull though. i think you guys just don't know fun when you see it
Maybe, but I can tell a complete lack of effort when I see it.

i meant trippy more than anything - abstracting from the sonics - not that it's non-representational.abstract? it's entirely figurative. there's nothing abstract about it. it's simple and distinctive. i think it works...
exactlyit also takes a bit more of an aesthetic risk than the very "tasteful" videos you posted, which are simply generic. it's a dance music promo, no one's presenting it as a work of "art"
i hated that video when i first saw it but now I actually quite like it i think. It's just kind of appealing.
It would be quite jarring to have this video inserted into a normal MTV timeslot. 3 minutes of trippy squid between your average booty-ho/girl power/guitar band clips
nah it's monthly, i'd rather keep it feeling like a bit of an event for us. thanks for the enthusiasm everyone
really enjoyable, martin- good works.
weird hearing a slint sample though (benny ill's new tune)!
Can't sample the usual shit all the time, can you?
(Dawn Stepped Outside with the Horsepower Remix out next week in most stores terrestrial and online)
PS to Blackdown n Dust, I fuckin love that Newhams track with Badness - Footsie's beats are wicked - and you can see other threads for my opinion which is far from straight down the line on the use of that word - but I had people telling me to take it off when I was playing your set.
Like I said, I love the tune - but like I said I did get told to turn it off.
