I really hope Usain Bolt does get a trial at Man United, as the Sun reports may be happening! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...olt-I-want-a-trial-for-Manchester-United.html

I'd be well surprised if this went ahead (both parties have got too much to lose: Ferguson his reputation if Bolt turns out to be shit (and slow), Bolt could lose his legs if anyone gets near him (although does he even care about sprinting any more? He's going to retire soon anyway))

But I think it makes quite a bit of sense, at least in a playing-David-James-up-front kind of way. Something that would certainly bamboozle opponents. (I bet he's good in the air as well).

It's not going to happen though, is it?

Just out of curiosity, are you English types aware of/concerned by what's happened to Rangers? Cos it's a really big deal up in Scotland

If you like indoor football, you should check out some Falcao videos on Youtube:

He's supposed to be the greatest futsal player of all time. I play it myself and watching this is always an inspiration. Not that I can do any of his tricks.

I've got Scottish family (Dundee Utd and Aberdeen fans) so I have taken something of an interest. Putting Rangers in the 3rd division seems like the right thing to do from a sporting perspective, though we'll see what the longer term effects on Scottish football turn out to be.

It seems utterly staggering to me that it could have been allowed to happen. It looks like a total failure of governance on the part of the SFA. The complicity of the Scottish media - never asking any questions of the owners or the querying the party line coming out of Ibrox - looks incredibly damning in retrospect.

Also - Neil Doncaster, Chief Exec of the SPL, who had a stinker throughout this saga, was sacked as CEO of Norwich when we got relegated to the third tier for the first time in 50 years. He signed off a transfer policy that had a dozen loanees in our team in that final season and no permanent centre forward. He is beyond incompetent.

If he starts at my work he's not getting invited to the Thursday afternoon kickabout

This is news to me. Nobody comes out of this whole affair looking too good. Utd are my Scottish team - top of the SPL last weekend :)

I think Arsenal have done well out of this. £23m is a good price for a 29 year old with one year left on his contract and a history of injury problems, and you've got to think that Giroud, Podolski and Cazorla will get a fair few goals between them

Chelsea are going to be ace this season

Cech - Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole - Mikel, Lampard - Ramires, Hazard, Mata - Torres

i reckon arsenal will get 3rd, their strongest team in ages. although selling Song is daft.

It makes financial sense, and we're not competing with United anyway (which itself is hard to admit, but it's true), but emotionally it's really upsetting. Seeing him in a United shirt actually made me feel a little ill, which is made worse by the suspicion that he is going to do really well for them (naturally, a lot of fans are now claiming that he was only good for a year anyway, or that he wasn't that good to begin with - rationalising a footballing "loss" is understandable in a way, but this is pretty embarrassing).

I was at the game against Cologne last weekend, and so my last memory of one of my favourite Arsenal players is him getting booed by our fans. Pretty shitty situation.

Selling Song, on the other hand, doesn't make any sense at all. From a personal point of view, he was my favourite player to watch in this side. That aside, him leaving means we not only lose a great passer, but also our only physically imposing midfielder (unless you count Diaby, RIP). Apparently Song has been acting in certain ways, but that's up to the manager to sort out rather than sell him. We'll get 20 million for him but then have to spend a season with a collection of midgets getting over run in midfield.

I don't think Podolski will do too well, either.

Darned cockwombles.
Liverpool LOL. What a result for Swansea too, really hope they stay up again.

I love Michael Laudrup already! (as a manager, everyone knows his playing capabilities back in the day; can he get some coaching support from Brian? That would be sensational.) Have to say I was worried the Swans would regress after Brendan Rodgers went, though I seem to have got it the wrong way round on present evidence....
