Sorry I've been quiet! It's been a bit of a mad couple of months.

Some VERY exciting news I've been sitting on for a little while while $$$ things were being sorted...

Went and got a womper of a Chris Gresswell dubplate of my all time favorite garage track!
Comments at the ting below!

Cause it's a dubplate! Find the whole 'engineering' concept really weird, especially in my case where I wasn't in the same country, let along in the studio along with Chris directing the process. Chris didn't engineer it, he produced it, don't see why there can't be a productive relation between DJs and producers which doesn't involve the one pretending to be the other.

Got some 'datwun' samples I could through in, but didn't think it was necessary! It's got one of my all time favorite vocal samples in it already...`

Lol industry secrets innit ;)

Nah he usually charges £100, but I got a discount for writing some copy for his Facebook page and soundcloud.
Really sound guy!

How did the creative process work in this case? Was it as simple as selecting a record you wanted remade into a Jackin' track?

I gave him the track and some ideas I wanted for it (to be honest, I wanted it to be a bit more on a deep 'You Want Me' vibe, but I still love it!), he sent me a draft, I gave it a critique, and he send me the final thing.

I'd love to go to the studio though and watch these guys in action, I reckon you could learn so much!

Anyone got a ID for the massive speed garage warper at 14 minutes in??

Some big silly bassline bizzness from this guy? Always love Mr Limey's vocals

Love the big cheesy hardcore vybez on this one!

And that second drop!!! Old skool bassline wobble/warp oof!

And obviously want to do whatever I can to encourage more ragga/jungle sampling jackin:

Not sure if anyone's posted this Dizzee Rascal mudness from man like Kilner?

And REALLY feeling this n$$$r track! Actually everything he does is gold. I reckon he's my favorite breakout producer of the year. Absolutely that "deep" bouncy You Want Me vibe, and some of the vocals are so borderline non-playably cheesy until the track drops into some massive bassline and it's all good.
Not this vocal though obviously

Nice companion to the Neeko banger which uses it:

Also this Tom Garnet track from a couple of months ago is up for free download! Love how mainstream all their hiphop references are lol

It's gone a bit quiet on the Jackin front though! Bigtunes has really dried up, and Cause & Affect haven't been saying much lately, hope they're working on some good stuff.

PS. Some REALLY high quality content coming from the Sleepin is Cheating youtube channel:
Now, I may not know everything about Leeds, but that warehouse looks suspiciously like a shopping centre, and that jackin bass sounds a LOT like electro house...
