They just nailed everything. The tunes, the artwork, the multiple aliases. The whole thing's immaculate. It seems to have arrived fully formed too. Enforcement was their first 12", right?

another key to the mystique: it was concise, and ended. seven singles in less than two years, done.

(talking here about the basic channel releases and yeah, I know q-loop came out in 2014 but those are previously non-vinyl tracks from the old cd comp, so they don't count)

the less swing they attempt the better.

i like the ones which have ABSOLUTELY NARY A TRACE of anything approximating soul.

the totally mechanical ones - they have the most spirit.

By your logic that means you must like them more right?

i like the ones that are least authentic feeling. it's a consistent position.

like by being the most germanic they can be - they approach some kind of universality. and thus find dub that way.

"king of my empire" is good because cornell campbell sounds like he is stuck in berlin-teigel airport listening to music on headphones.

the german lads give no quarter.

I do like the idea (I think Blissblogger advanced it somewhere) of the most interesting results of imitation being when imitation goes wrong — deliberately or not.

I didn't get the BC stuff at first. It wasn't until I ordered a Rhythm & Sound record from Honest Jons and they accidentally sent me Lyot Rmx that it clicked.

Be a dear and do a top 10 countdown version.

My current belief is that Lyot RMX is the pinnacle but I'm not all that familiar with most of their stuff tbh and could use schooling.

It's probably characteristic of my shameful Romantic proclivities that I prefer GAS to BC.
