Practically a cliché at this point to describe him as a toddler who's never had to grow up - but that's because it's true. His voice is camp, reedy... he always feels reactive, bratty. He’s always pushing back against the sensible middle class gaze. It’s impish and insolent - no! A self satisfied child pushing the boundaries
That's an interesting point. And how it contrasts with his evident obsession with appearing tough and masculine.his campness is interesting cos i don't think it's natural to him. I think the natural trump is the grab em by the pussy lunkhead trump.
but he adopts this campness, deliberately. why? my guess is that somewhere deep in his pysche - however deep his psyche gets, anyway - it's this feeling that somehow this camp act is what it is to be showbiz.
studio 54 casts a long shadow.
I liked the observation that he stands like he's the front half of a centaur.Supposedly he wears lifts and that's why he's always leaning slightly forward. It fits with the seemingly endless game of brinkmanship he's playing with everyone at all times. He's forever on the verge of toppling over.
This one from the late 90s is relatively interesting,if you watch the old videos of him in the 80s he seems pretty slick, and even has a bit of a sense of humour apparent, not at all like the president or even the apprentice-firer
