shoegaze was not accurate, i was talking about the rehearsals we did over the last summer and how we didnt quite get the sound we wanted. it was a flippant comment, the sound won't be like this at all... but we can back grand statements up.

it doesn't make it any less about the dancefloor but at the time we toyed with versions of need you that were based on switching between 32 bar phrases rather than developing the mood of the track, by this I mean excluding the middle section. That's why I said it wasn't whole heartedly designed...

Our music alot of the time isn't designed to move the dancefloor. I've seen lots of performances were the audience stand looking at a stage but the vibe has been right. Off the top of my head the xx recently. Also at Micheal, do you really think we'd prepare something for ourselves to indulge...

It's not a pointless exercise for us. We are doing it because it gets us out of a recording perspective and gives us the chance to come up with new ideas so the tracks transcend well into a live performance. It's fun experimenting with the music and coming up with live reworks of our tracks...

Our live set wasn't ready in time for the birthday, but in my opinion the live set's were the highlight of the evening. I think to set new standards and grow artistically performing live is very important. im happy to be encouraged by hyperdub to do this. to have a birthday party with just dj's...

just seen this about the live thing, unfortunately we wont be ready so it'll be straight dj set.... mad busy, i'll change the myspace tonight.

he's done decent bits, but i think he really limits his recent stuff musically which maybe due to the fact he likes writing loops more than actually progressing something as a song, production is decent. great dj, got lots of charm. a real presence.
