Deserves own thread. LP kick off interview with 9.
Yay, anticipation went up some notches again, can't wait to hear it.
Although, as my hopes for this are continuously rising again, they're bound to get crushed I fear....
curse the self hype. I really must learn to be more zen like... already ruined a perfectly good Mt Kimbie album for meself.
c.
That is a good thing right?I'm still getting my head around this album. The vocals sound a bit like the Junior Boys or something.

it's absolutely awful. and please stop with the JB's comparisons, unless you're referring to their later stuff. They died after Last Exit.
ahh, a little worried about junior boys comparisons. hopefully this isn't too sappy.
looking forward to the john roberts remix, one of my favorite house producers right now.
I've not heard the album so this is purely speculation but I'm sure Kode 9 would be happy that they've given him an album that isn't just straight up dubstep. More likely for Burial style psuedo-popularity amongst the Guardian crowd..?At what point does a label owners dedication to that labels musical direction get muddied by the artists going off on a tangent?
So Kode9 loves the earlier work of Darkstar and sends them off to record an album, they come back telling him about a change of line up, a new singer and present him with a CD chock full of JB tinged indi-fodder. It has to be an uncomfortable moment as he looks into their little glowing hope-filled faces whilst listening to it in his big label boss chair, elbows on the Simon Cowell-style desk he's just had installed, fingers steepled in front of his face.
Not heard it yet mind, maybe its fucking awesome.
