It's a selection of things that we loved but didn't seem to fit appropriately on our second album, "Out Of Darkness, Light" which drops via New York's Ohm Resistance label on October 23rd, but worked beautifully as their own separate unit. A selection drift that can also make you vibrate.

The Lost Cascadian Suite is based around recordings of live Gunshae performances recorded at our homes away from home, the twin Cascadian festival pillars, Soundwave in Uculet, and the Decibel Festival in Seattle.

We multi-tracked everything, took it back home and reworked it from there, this is what came out the other side.

Movements 1 and 3 come from Soundwave. We invoked something there, placid skies untill we started playing and then about ten mins in, we brought down the biggest storm I'd seen during my attendence at the festival. Then, just as the storm swept in, it drifted off.

Movements 2 and 4 come from the Decibel Festival and specifically our set at the Panambient Cascadia show we threw there. Both pieces feature Seattle harpist, Vanessa Stovell doing the damn thing. Not bad for a classically trained teenager who'd never done anything like this, ever. That's her percussion you can hear beating out the pulse on the body of her harp. Both pieces also feature the mic hanging skills and marvellous patience of Ben Torrence, our soundman for the day and a heck of a musician in own right under the Splinters name.

We're grateful to Constantine at Panospria for giving this an outlet, Rupert for having us at Soundwave and to Sean for having us at Decibel.

Consider this our gift to the tribes of the Cascadian revolution, to our hosts, to our friends and to you, dear listener.

With warmest regards, somewhere between Vancouver, Cancun and the stars...
