my top ten is pretty emosh and song-ist. surprised myself quite a lot by not making a grime record number one. i think my 'personal best top 50 nuum records' would prob be a bit different.

Wow, just listening through all the funky selections and I've discovered some brilliant tunes I'd never heard before. How great are Fuzzy Logik?! And Ill Blu? And Funkystepz? And Lil Silva? And Crazy Cousinz?

Fucking hell funky has had some brilliant producers.

I'll blatantly end up picking the obvious anthems for the most part, but those tunes tend to be the 'best' anyway - like going through the funky list, I was discovering these amazing tunes I'd never heard before, but when I listened to the obvious big ones like ''Inflation'' ''Sirens'' ''Frontline'' etc. you just cannot help but put them to the front of the queue.

The Funky thing even feels a bit tragic to me cos I just wish that it had blown up much more than it did - the level of talent in that scene was/is incredible. And I know from my small experience of seeing those funky tunes in clubs/parties how happy they make everybody. I just love the way funky could slide effortlessly from sugary sweet/cheesy R'N'B' songs to hard-as-nails bassline rollers in an instant, because it was balanced between those two poles... Like Crazy Cousinz, say - their tunes were hard as fuck in the bass/beats but had all sorts of light lavish touches on top of them, and were great pop tunes as well.

wanna add in a few more nominations. i know some dudes have already submitted their votes but some of these omissions are so egregious (i.e. Pow) I feel like they should be able to unlock their ballots. w/YT links included to ease benny's burden
