Yeah, Biden was filmed threatening to fight a member of the public the other week and nothing happened. There's been a shift.
Well this is the discussion in the other thread isn't it (as always all topics become one) but it could go either way... I tend to be pessimistic about these things and I don't see much sign of party lines disappearing at the moment, maybe the shock hasn't been big enough yet.Yeah I think you are right actually. If we go into wartime type command economies, the government lasts as long as it lasts. But the hope is that adversarial politics goes out the window, party lines dissolve so to speak0
Did you see that yesterday the NY Times was advising Americans that the Trump updates were dangerous bullshit and they should get their info from Macron, Merkel and Trudeau instead... obviously true but pretty damming and sad really.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Several months before the coronavirus pandemic began, the Trump administration eliminated a key American public health position in Beijing intended to help detect disease outbreaks in China, Reuters has learned.
"He killed my ma, he killed my pa, but I will vote for him."
I read that as "Oh fuck me this is gonna be - and, worse, look - bad, let's let the governors deal with it and blame them afterwards"The president wants me to make clear that fighting the virus will be “locally executed, state managed & federally supported.”
The ad consists of dated recordings of Trump's words talking abut the C19 plotted against a graph of the number of cases risings. There is absolutely no dispute that it's true so this is pretty frightening isn't it? Even if it is just an empty threat. The Trump re-election campaign told TV stations they could lose their operating licenses for airing an ad criticizing the president’s actions in the coronavirus crisis -- a challenge that may be more bluster than actual threat.
President Donald Trump’s campaign, in a letter on Wednesday, told stations in five battleground states to stop showing the ad from Priorities USA, a political action committee that supports Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Failure to remove the ad “could put your station’s license in jeopardy” before the Federal Communications Commission, the campaign said in the letter. “Your station has an obligation to cease and desist from airing it immediately to comply with FCC licensing requirements.”
