yeah mostly I do too but sometimes it can let you see things differently
reminds me ofA bit of the same happens when walking at night. The inner life of things is let out and forms this poetic continuum.
It's not exactly a harmony, and not a disharmony either. It's simply the sheer existence of the things together that become animated and interesting.
How gardens come awake at night
whisper to one another.
Unpeopled stage-sets
where possums play
and trees
conspire
with one another.
Cats conduct clandestine meetings,
stalk imaginary prey…
it's good when it turns what you see into a film by providing a soundstrack
Or maybe he has saved your lifethat's the kind of thing you tell me and then i'm gonna be thinking about it the next time and you've ruined it.
I’ve actually not worn them here out of fear of getting run over by a tram. Those things are terrifying. Same in Lisbon.Or maybe he has saved your life
this weekend was the first weekend i've been in amsterdam since it opened up again and i believe the city centre is not a livable place any more. i've seen people queuing up for the most ordinary places, queue up to buy a cookie, queue up to buy a cheese, what is going on? on some parts of the city there literally is no place left on the sidewalk anymore. my body is full of stress when i'm there cos i have to be alert all the time.I’ve actually not worn them here out of fear of getting run over by a tram. London was like this with queues for all sorts of shops, post office, bank etc it has improved since thenthis weekend was the first weekend i've been in amsterdam since it opened up again and i believe the city centre is not a livable place any more. i've seen people queuing up for the most ordinary places, queue up to buy a cookie, queue up to buy a cheese, what is going on? on some parts of the city there literally is no place left on the sidewalk anymore. my body is full of stress when i'm there cos i have to be alert all the time.

100I walk through the city at night and listen to music. On weed and William Basinski it sometimes feel like i'm in a Van gogh painting.
Wrong wrong don't listen to this guy, it's only better to be safe than sorry IF the incident rate is high enough that the average cost of headphones outweighs the average benefit. I'm not sure that's the case here. But if you're worried @entertainment, bone-conducting headphones solve this. You keep full ambient audio but get music as a separate layer. It's better to be safe than sorry. I also just like listening to what's going on around me - makes a change from music or film or whatever at home. It's better for your ears too. You get wax build up and infections more often if you're forever wearing ear or headphones.
I'm surprised cos I feel that we were always walking up and down parts of the ridgeway as kids, be it with school or family or whatever. It's such a boring walk no one else does it so you don't see a soul. Just trudge joylessly ever
