I suppose so. But how far do you take it? It can end up sounding like "brutal societies aren't all bad, because they sometimes achieve amazing things". Which is true - the achievements bit, I mean - but what does it buy us? The marvels of Victorian engineering don't excuse the horrors of colonialism. The USSR put a man in space while terrorising half of Europe. The Americans landed on the moon while committing atrocities in Vietnam. Blah blah blah.that doesnt spoil the argument or the joke.

786 Approved. What on earth did that even mean? I remember (just) someone saying to me one hazy night (in 92) that two Indians or was it Pakistanis made the tunes... And how they were amazed that people of that cultural upbringing could make such music. I was amazed too because then I suddenly realized that this music was going to bring everyone together to dance out the close-mindedness. That was the early 90s and now its 2019... Are we going backwards.. Yes for the music! But lets not have a rerun of the politics, please!? Anyway, 786 was a great label at the time and helped Junglizm/Jungle Techno to become in the making back then!
786 is the numerological representation of in the name of Allah in Islam. So 786 approved means approved by God.. O.G. mind scrambling acidic islamic psychedelia here, big up Nasim Khan and all the crew involved, very ahead of their time musically and socially and still absolutely underrated and underacknowledged, and a huge inspiration for people from Asian and muslim cultural/religious backgrounds like myself. Hopefully our communities will have the opportunity to make such music again soon..absolutely badboy lacerating and scorching stuff - fuck the racist British govt.. stop arresting our kids on nonexistent terrorist charges when you commit war crimes with yer buddy the USA.. bring back jungle techno..peace!
Such as living in Exeter and being obsessed with mushrooms, for instance.and the whites make good records only under the most exceptional of circumstances.
