They're both considered parts of Western Europe, no?only the italian and french kitchen are worth it in my opinion.
Giles Coren? Such a cunt.“Portuguese cooking is the worst on earth. Or, at least, the worst of any warm nation on earth. Obviously, Irish cooking could give it a run. Or Polish. But in its leaden, oversalted blandness, the cuisine of Portugal is, at best, what English cooking would be if we had better weather”, Coren wrote in his piece published at the beginning of this month.
Coren also makes reference to the historic allegiance between Portugal and the UK, saying: “It is a creaking truism of international diplomacy that the alliance between Britain and Portugal is the oldest in the world. It is less often observed that the alliance is one based not on political expedience but a mutual love of soggy cod, white bread, overcooked potatoes, plain cheese, sweet wine and cold custard.”
Hahaha, that is a quite hilarious level of self-aggrandisement though. When he likened a sub-editor cutting a word out of his piece to a pissed Irish (again) plasterer destroying a renaissance masterpiece...
He's worse than Toby Young.
luka, how can you stand for this, much less like it? He's dissing the greatest dish of the greatest country! YOUR country!!!i don't know any english food really, just the english breakfast and that makes me gag even when i see or smell it.
Thing is he's.... not half-right, but there is, just about, the kernel of a grain of truth in there somewhere.Well I posted it to wind you up obviously!
I dunno... sort of... i dont think so. There is lots of really good food, very tasty witwh great ingredients. Feels a little repetitive though after a while. General standard high. Probably doesn't go as good as the best French but maybe not as bad as the worst. They laugh at Spanish food... but maybe that's just sour grapes.Portuguese is pretty much peasant food, right? at least there's lots of seafood.
TRAITORI agree with him. It looks discusting.
Au contraire, I find it fills me with joy.I do like eating my veggie alternative but looking at them is sort of depressing isn't it
