Music that needs rescuing

I'm listening to some reggae - Bob Marley, Peter Tosh etc. And it's great.

Famously, I used to listen to reggae all the time but grew to view it with distaste because of all its bad associations, including:

1. Beach bars.
2. BBC Radio 6 Music.
3. Bristolian drum n bass
4. White men with dreadlocks
5. Rasta Mouse
6. Arts Council funded dub poetry

So reggae needs rescuing. (I mean inside my head, but perhaps outside it too.)

I think a lot of music needs rescuing when it gets too old and established. Music that was once cool, sexy, edgy etc. becomes old and dusty and dull.
