What I love about certain areas is a sense of civic pride and I'm not sure how many areas really have this. There's an element to it in Birmingham with Royal Blue, but it's really pronounced in areas like Royal Leamington Spa with the amount of white cars to match the Stucco fronted architecture. I notice it too in Wolverhampton, probably from a football perspective, there's a lot of gold. People even have tacky gold coloured curtains but at least there is some pride. Or the same in Coventry with Sky Blue colours. Even the sky is always bright blue in Warwickshire.

I have thought before that during my time in Nottingham I saw a lot of red coloured cars (football) and also the odd green one (forest). But that's probably just my imagination rather than people 'banging colours'? Does it happen in any areas you know?

London is too diverse for it to happen. It's the same in Birmingham. You only see the odd blue car, preferably with gold alloys. At least in London you can drive Vauxhalls or the odd R-Type around Romford.

Traffic lights, with their green bulbs, are another victim. Between 2004 and 2007, 205 sets of traffic lights were smashed, costing the council nearly £17,000 to repair. There have even been claims that drunken youths have attempted to set fire to grass. :whistle:

Larkhall is obviously an extreme example but there's definitely pockets of this all over Scotland too. I don't pay attention to football at all but I wouldn't be surprised if Partick Thistle exist solely to rescue people from answering "Rangers or Celtic?"

Belfast is another matter

All used to be a lot more heavy, then you have a town like Portadown where wearing green WILL get you filled in (or worse). Wonder what the mood is like there currently

i had a thing one year where i was on drugs and i just noticed like everything was orange Trump was president and there was a Jupiter probe and the pumpkins were in the supermarkets cos it was halloween and the leaves on the trees were orange cos it was autumn and i think maybe there was some orange telly programme that was big too maybe maybe even an orange colour revolution too. it was weird just orange everywhere

Purple is quite a hard colour to mix, with acrylics or oil paints.

You need the right sort of blue and the right sort of red.

It's something like a warm blue and a cold red, or cold blue and warm red, it has to be the opposite edges of red and blue. Probably cold blue and warm red is what makes it, now I think about it.

If you mix both cold red and blue or both warm red and blue, you get grey or brown.

Purple is an attractive colour precisely because it sits at the edge of the spectrum, it closes the circle.

And its the hardest simple mix to make from the primary colours.

colour is really interesting in this Mayan Control Calendar sense. I'm not usually cued into it but everyone once in a while it'll barge to the front of my consciousness. i mentioned the orange period and i think i mentioned the yellow period too and there was another time round a friends with the lads where we had a film on and i suddenly became super aware of the colour blocking
