how is this possible i thought you had to listen to audio versions? wouldnt you have to speed it up to the point a normal human couldnt discern words just a high pitched hum?
My brother had a friend with encyclopaedic knowledge of silent films... turned out he had seen so many cos he watched em all speeded up, said it didn't matter if there was no speaking.

I don't like youtubes speed algorithm. It tries to adjust speed not pitch, which only works for 2 semitones max. Pitch that motherfucker up!

I was once at a work presentation with a blind person presenting, trying to explain their way of accessing information, and they played us a clip of how fast their screen reader went. It was literally incomprehensible, unbelievably fast.

Giz us a sec and I'll record a clip of it reading neon screams.

In a study done at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research, an average sighted person can understand speech at six syllables per second. I say sighted because, in their study, they found some blind people can listen and comprehend speech at an astonishing 25 syllables per second. The researchers show that a blind person can repurpose parts of their brains used for visual processing and use it for auditory processing.

Not an altogether bad idea.

But for the record, this is unabashedly false.

But actually during a Yale music theory lecture, the guy said that certain melodies work at higher pitches because they "clear" faster, being shorter wavelengths. Maybe there are similar dynamics to exploit with speaking pitches.
