All these cities have been squeezed and before long everyone has to move to London which is inevitably where things happen. Its like a big black hole hoovering everything good up.

Nottingham is strange one - I lived there for 3 years in the 90s and it was definitely a place where music was appreciated - some great record shops especially, but yes not much bandwidth in terms of artists/bands (though I suppose they have Sleaford Mods now)

Yeah, I was there in the late 00's (04 to 08 maybe?) and there was loads of good stuff to go and see but it all felt like it was hanging on the coat tails of stuff that was happening elsewhere.
